Building and Ground Use and Rental 2025

Building and Ground Use and Rental

Lawrenceburg United Methodist Church

VISION STATEMENT: Lawrenceburg United Methodist Church is committed to Know and Love Jesus, Love and Serve Others.

MISSION:  Lawrenceburg United Methodist Church is a Christian community committed to leading unified missions and ministries in Christ for the transformation of the world.  We desire to be like minded, have the same love, and be one in spirit and purpose as the apostle Peter tells the church in Philippians 2:1-4:

If you have any encouragement from being united with Christ, if any comfort from HIs love, if any fellowship with the Spirit, if any tenderness and compassion, then make my joy complete by being like-minded, having the same love, being one in spirit and purpose. Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit, but in humility consider others better than yourselves. Each of you should look not only to your own interests, but also to the interests of others.

PURPOSE: This document provides rental and use information for when LUMC members (and active attenders) and outside groups use or rent space in the building, gym, and the grounds around the church.

Our building and grounds are an important element of ministry here at Lawrenceburg United Methodist Church.  With this in mind, we desire to use our space to encourage a variety of ministries, worship experiences, and community events at LUMC.  We rent space to connect with our community and generate income to be used for building and maintenance. We encourage our members (and active attenders) to use our space for a variety of family, community, and ministry activities. We forge ministry partnerships with nonprofit organizations and groups that align with our purpose, vision, and mission.  Use of the building must be scheduled through the church office to be placed on the church calendar.

Members (and active attenders)

There is no rental fee for members (and active attenders) to reserve space for family and ministries events. If the member (or active attender) represents a non-profit organization or group that they are active in (for example a HOA), there is no rental fee charged unless the event is over 25 people.  If the event is over 25 people, then Non-Member Rental Fees will apply.

If a member (or active attender) desires to reserve space for an event (art classes, exercise groups, etc.) that the member leads and where a basic fee will be charged then the member (or active attender) will tithe (10%) of what is collected to the Facility Reserve Fund. The event must be congruent with the purpose, vision, and mission of Lawrenceburg United Methodist Church

Ministry Partners

If the pastor or a Trustee, in consultation with and approval from the Trustees Team, determines that an outside non-profit group or organization objectives support LUMC’s mission and purpose, then the pastor or Trustee can form a “ministry partnership” with their organization and their rental fee will be waived or reduced.  This partnership will provide mutual opportunities for outreach, service, and growth for the people of LUMC and the surrounding community.
